Katherine, “la numero uno,” hails from Alexandria, Virginia, and dreams of adventure, both far and wide.
Weighing in at a smashing 150lbs (backpack and gear included), this 5 foot 5 inch Capricorn enjoys good books, good music, and good food. Particularly when enjoying all three with good company. After the Democrats of the U.S. House of Representatives received a thorough “shellacking” in November 2010, Katherine decided to take the hint and get out of town. She has been to South America once before, with a 6 month stint as a student in Lima, Peru. While her Spanish was top-notch when she returned in December of 2005, she’s been neglecting it ever since. A goal of the trip for Katherine: “mejorando mi castellano.”
Her greatest anticipation: learning about organic farming practices in the southern hemisphere.
Her greatest fear: falling off the back of a burro and busting a tailbone in the Andes.
